Place Your Fear in My Hand – List Poem
Place your fear in my hand and I’ll-
Twist it into a soft metaphor.
Whisper into its ears – it’s okay, it’s okay.
Hold it gently like holding a newborn.
Caress its skin.
Offer my shoulder, if it wants something broader than my hand.
Feed it sweet dreams.
Sing to it the lullaby my mother sang to me when I told her about the voices.
Cuddle it till it falls asleep in my arms.
Make it feel the sunrise.
Croon to it that its presence is normal.
Cradle it to my bosom.
Write a love letter to it.
