NaPoWriMo Day 3 (Instagram) – Crushing…

I left my feet inside this puddle
knowing that the comforting mud
would wear off one day.
Those eyes under those thick eyebrows
would stop enticing me.
My fingers would stop twitching
to run them through his forest beard.
These heartbeats-thundering dreams
would dissolve and become nothing.
Whatever happens to my flesh
when he stands too close to me
would evaporate and join the clouds.
But I’d keep crushing till then,
for if I find myself making a choice
between feeling it
and feeling nothing at all,
I’d always choose to feel.
I’m glad about this shiny chloride shift
until I can ask myself,
Is it a crush or is it a concussion?
