NaPoWriMo Day 21 – Calm

NaPoWriMo Day 21 – Calm

This serenity
is not
an occasional
glimmer.

My days
are brewing
in this
repose.

If you had
met me
a few months
ago,
I’d have been
clothed
in anguish.

What came
over me?
If I know,
I’ll let you
know.

Right now,
my heart
soars
like an
albatross.

A permanent
season of
Sakura
unfolds
in my mind.

I’m detombing
my soul
from the
shackles of
despondency.

I’m calm.
I’m calm.
I’m home.

Today’s prompt is from napowrimo.net. I invented the word ‘detombing’ which can mean removing someone/something from a tomb.

  1. Your calm poem spoke to me, Kavya, and I aspire to the serenity and repose you describe. I love the lines:
    ‘A permanent
    season of
    Sakura
    unfolds
    in my mind’
and the ‘detombing’ of the soul.

  2. Oooh, this poem just made me realize too late today’s prompt actually asked us to invent our own word (I forgot do follow that part). Anyway, “detombing” should become an official word. It is so exact and you used it perfectly, everyone should start using this word one day.
