NaPoWriMo Day 12 – Heaven is You (Villanelle)
Hell is other people, but heaven is you.
Am I stretching things when they’re just nothing?
I’ll make sure you stay without a clue.
Your black eyes are cooking up a stew.
I want this fleeting moment to mean something.
Hell is other people, but heaven is you.
If only you knew, oh, if only you knew.
I keep asking, is it truly happening?
But I’ll make sure you stay without a clue.
Towards your soft self, my racing heart flew.
All my bones are tainted with wanting.
Hell is other people, but heaven is you.
Never would these endless dreams turn true.
Should I always keep this matchstick burning?
I’ll make sure you stay without a clue.
Drowning deeper into this despondent blue,
I imbibe this feeling into my breathing.
Hell is other people, but heaven is you.
And I’ll make sure you stay without a clue.
