NaPoWriMo Day 1 – An Alexandrine Poem

Amidst the weeping rain,
the hours refused to move.
I just stood there watching,
craving to be uncaged.
How long can I hold this?
The questions never stopped.

Amidst the weeping rain,
the hours refused to move.
The world around me soared,
and there I was, frozen.
My dreams slithered away,
making fun of my fate.

Amidst the weeping rain,
the hours refused to move.
I clutched at hopelessness
and prolonged the façade.
But I wished to end it.
And take off as I planned.

Amidst this charming rain,
the hours dribble slowly.
I am now flourishing.
Come, stop me if you can.
