In Silence, There is Eloquence – Double Ennead
The air thick with silence
I strive to embrace
the joy found in this calm reverberation.
What more can I ask for?
I live in the now.
I search within myself
and dig through my thoughts
for the answers I’ve been seeking for decades.
It all waters down to
this glowing silence.
Soaking in this newness,
I flourish within.
Next time someone asks about my well-being,
I would tell them the truth-
I’m tranquil and still.

This poem is written for the Tanka Tuesday Poetry Challenge No. 336.
The Double Ennead comprises five lines with a syllable count of 6/5/11/6/5, (33 SYLLABLES per stanza) 3 STANZAS EACH = 99 SYLLABLES, NO MORE, NO LESS!
It was created by Colleen Cheesebro for the Carrot Ranch Literary Community. The Tanka Tuesday Challenge was to write a syllabic poem using the synonyms of the words QUIET & SEEK. I used the synonyms – SILENCE & SEARCH.
