Courage, A Newcomer – Villanelle
I am becoming the main character
By reviving myself from the wreckage.
My skin is embalmed with this superpower.
I don’t lock my passion in a chamber
Instead, I give it life and encourage.
I am becoming the main character.
I uncoil and turn into a leader.
I unpack and throw away my past baggage.
My skin is embalmed with this superpower.
I heartily welcome this newcomer.
I wear it as a cloak to prevent damage.
I am becoming the main character.
There’s pain and sweat, but I am an endurer.
I have tied my failures with a bandage.
My skin is embalmed with this superpower.
From a repeat loser to a performer,
I have been through a lot on this pilgrimage.
I am becoming the main character.
My skin is embalmed with this superpower.
