Birthing a New Me – Freeverse
How enraptured am I
while I lather my skin
with the Goddess of
moisturizing soaps?
Or soak my feet
in balmy Epsom salts?
Or just enjoy
a quiet moment in the
stillness of the morning?
Or embrace the
post-rain aura of the night?
Or lose myself in
Viparita Virabhadrasana?
Or take deep breaths
and turn inward
when the burden and rage
try to cave me in?
Birthing a new me
is a constant process.
Sometimes, I deviate.
Yet the next morning,
I push and birth myself
beginning a metamorphosis.
I’d find joy
scratching at the walls
of my solar plexus chakra.
And my mirror would tell me-
making the truest self of you
is the greatest labour of love.
