A Rosy Vision – Butterfly Cinquain
Hello, I am writing this Butterfly Cinquain for the #TankaTuesday Poetry Challenge No. 257. The challenge is to write an ekphrastic poem for the below image:
So, here’s my cinquain:
is her thinking
She dreams of a vision-
comfortable, rosy, and free
the chains that bind her to the cage
she dreams of far-flung lands
where freedom is

A beautiful take on the prompt. Love it! 💕🙂
Kavya, I like your take on the woman’s vision in this painting. I didn’t think about her wishing for her personal freedom. That is really a great viewpoint! Butterfly cinquain’s are always fun to write. <3
I love the idea of her being caged and wishing for freedom! Great interpretation and wonderful poem! 🙂
Thank you so much, Yvette!
Yes, she is trapped in that fancy place. I like where you went with this.
Lovely and evocative.
Thank you, Jude!
